{"id":317,"date":"2025-02-14T19:39:22","date_gmt":"2025-02-14T18:39:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kamilatylicka.pl\/?page_id=317"},"modified":"2025-02-14T19:39:22","modified_gmt":"2025-02-14T18:39:22","slug":"mindfulness","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/kamilatylicka.pl\/en\/o-metodach\/mindfulness\/","title":{"rendered":"Mindfulness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Mindfulness<\/strong>Mindfulness has its roots in ancient Buddhist tradition, particularly in meditation practices.\nThe term \u201cmindfulness\u201d is a translation of the Pali word \u201csati\u201d (or \u201csm\u1e5bti\u201d in Sanskrit), which means \u201cmemory\u201d or \u201cawareness\u201d \u2014 in the context of being present and conscious in the here and now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the modern Western world, mindfulness gained recognition largely through the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, an American professor of medicine. In the 1970s, he developed the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program, adapting Buddhist meditative practices for medical and therapeutic contexts. His research showed that regular mindfulness practice supports the reduction of stress, anxiety, and depression, while improving both mental and physical health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mindfulness and the Breath<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><blockquote style=\"font-style: italic;border-left: 4px solid #ccc;padding-left: 1em;margin: 1.5em 0\">\n  <p>\u201cWhen we interviewed hundreds of participants who had completed the stress reduction program over the years and asked what the most valuable takeaway was, most of them answered: <strong>the breathing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n  <p>I found that funny, because of course, every single one of them had been breathing long before they came to the program. So why does breathing \u2014 something so familiar \u2014 suddenly become so meaningful and precious?<\/p>\n\n  <p><em>...Tuning in to the breath helps us find our center of gravity.<\/em><\/p>\n\n  <p><strong>The breath reminds us to come back to our body<\/strong> \u2014 and to live the rest of the moment with awareness.\u201d<\/p>\n\n  <footer style=\"margin-top: 1em\"><cite>\u2014 Jon Kabat-Zinn, <em>Full Catastrophe Living<\/em>, 2nd ed., 2013, p. 93<\/cite><\/footer>\n<\/blockquote><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Praktyka mindfulness (uwa\u017cno\u015bci) przynosi wiele korzy\u015bci dla zdrowia psychicznego i fizycznego.
